Anna Dell Pence married to Arthur James Grier
Mar 3,1912 A pretty home wedding was solemnized at noon on Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Pence, east of the city at which time their charming daughter Anna Dell, was united in marriage to Mr. Arthur James Grier. The ceremony was performed under a large wedding bell suspended from the arch between the double parlors. Rev. A. Swartz the grandfather of the groom officiated at the ceremony. The pretty bride was handsomely gowned in white satin with lace and fringe trimmings and carried a bouquet of white cartions. They were unattended. Following the nuptials a sumptuous four course wedding dinner was served at a table prettily embellised with pink and green strands of pink ribbon and green smilax extended from the chandeliers to the four corners of the table and a large basket of carnations of ferns served as a centerpiece. Dainty place cards marked covers for the following: Mr. and Mrs. Arthur James Grier, Mr. and Mrs Clinton Pence parents of the bride, Mr. and Mrs. James Grier Parents of the groom, Rev and Mrs. A Swartz grandparents of the groom, Mr. David pence Grandfather of the bride, Mr. and Mrs. William Pence daughter Hellen and son Guy, Mr. and Mrs Levi Hampson aunt and uncle of the bride, Misses Katie, Clara, Nellie and edith Grier, Hazel Pence, Messrs, Earl Pence and John Grier. Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Grier went immediately to housekeeping in a newly furnished home east of the city where they will be at home to their friends after March tenth. They received an array of beautiful gifts from their relatives and friends, among them checks for handsome sums from the parents of both the bride and groom, also a variety of hand-painted china, silverware, cut class, pictures , etc. Their long last of friends will hasten to extend congratulations and best wishes for a long, happy and prosperous life.
