INDIANA WEA MUNICIPAL PRETREATMENT COMMITTEE

MISSION STATEMENT

The following represents the mission of the Municipal Pretreatment Committee. Since its inception, the pretreatment program requirements have become more complex and involved. For this reason, an organization is needed that can be helpful to all municipalities involved in this activity. This committee was created for the following reasons:

(1) To keep abreast of the latest state and federal laws pertaining to local pretreatment programs,

(2) To share information between communities on various problem solving methods that different communities are using,

(3) To conduct various workshops and seminars on subjects such as industrial inspections, permit writing, monitoring, enforcement, ordinance writing, sampling and other related topics necessary to successfully operate a local municipal pretreatment program,

(4) To build a network of individuals to be contacted when needed.
