One of the most beautiful times of year in Japan is early spring, when
sakura (cherry blossoms) are in bloom. People all over the country go out
for O-hanami, literally cherry blossom viewing. It is the perfect opportunity
to sit under the cherry blossoms, hang out with good friends, and drink
the day
away.
These photos were taken this past spring, with two men from my board of
education office, Mr. Takayama and Mr. Tsuboyama, and myself and Sharon.
