Mystery of Aer Lingus Flight 712 British Missile Strike & Commercial Cover-up in 1968?

March 24th 1968: 61 passengers and crew were lost aboard Aer Lingus EI-AOM Vickers Viscount 803 "St. Phelim" Flight 712 from Cork to London when it crashed into the sea off Tuskar Rock, Co. Wexford. Despite a lenghty investigation, the cause of the tragedy remains unknown. However, numerous questions continue to be asked about the possibility that Flight 712 was brought down by a British missile or drone, resulting in continued prevarication by both Governments. Add to that, Aer Lingus, the national airline has also appeared reticent to make public all it’s files on the case claiming that these had been released at the time of the initial investigation. Latest information coming to light through various investigations by the media reveal an intricate web of deception, denial, officially sanctioned file shredding, record removal and dubious practices that have only confirmed latent suspicions on the Tuskar Rock tragedy. This is the first ongoing internet site to reveal the information available to date on the Tuskar Rock tragedy and is respectfully dedicated to the memory of those lost aboard Flight EI-712. The Un-answered Questions: The Flight 712 tragedy: caused by mechanical failure or by a British test missile? Why was the flight path altered and how did Aer Lingus allegedly ‘bungle’ the air and sea search for survivors and wreckage? Was HMS Penelope conducting sea testing of the new SeaDart missile at the time? Why were there five Royal Navy vessels in the area at the time of the crash? Were recovered crash bodies ‘secretly cremated in a cover up of missile hit’ as reported on Ireland’s TV3, The Daily Star, Irish Independent, Irish Times and other newspapers in January 1999? Why were no documents relating to the crash released to the Public Records Office in Britain under terms of the Thirty Year Disclosure rule? What was the Irish and British Governments response to the tragedy? What have the Irish and British Government done since? Why did Aer Lingus allegedly not produce a written report on the crash?
