Ficus elastica Commonly referred to as rubber trees, Ficus elastica are among the easiest of houseplants to grow. They tolerate low humidity, sporadic watering, and shady areas while still producing large, beautiful plants. The leaves are large and shiny, and hold water for the plant. Keeping the leaves clean is a good idea, and the leaves are shiny when clean. This is a good bet for a big, somewhat shady area that would look great with a large plant. Although they grow fairly slowly, they can achieve impressive size. Care rating: |
