Spider plant Properly known as Chlorophytum comosum, spider plants are perhaps the most common of all houseplants. Outrageously easy to grow and propagate, spiders will tolerate a lot of bad elements, and still look good and grow well. Be sure to pluck of the baby spiders if they get too plentiful. The babies can then be potted up and they will grow as well. Spider plants are common hanging plants, as the babies spiders and long leaves look great in a hanging basket. They also look good if planted en masse--the effect can be quite striking. For an introductory plant (it's what got me started), you really can't beat spider plants. Care rating: |
