Drama 2307 Agreement
Read preview and be
sure you understand these terms before signing.
Presence in the class
is verified by the pink roll. Not
signing the pink roll means you are not in class, regardless of how many
witnesses you can produce. Reading,
sleeping, or eating in class will result in the student receiving an absence
for the day, as will being more than fifteen minutes late.
Plagiarism is the
representation of another person's work as one's own.
Plagiarism in this
class will result in an F on the paper as well as an F in the entire course.
There are three
allowable absences in this class. You
do not need any excuse for those three absences. However, the 4th absence, will result in a drop in the
grade of one letter. Medical excuses
will be sympathized with, but you have three absences, so you should save them
for medical problems.
The use of cell
phones, either to make or receive calls, is not allowed in this class. If you have an emergency, you can leave the
vibrating ring on and when the call comes, you can quietly leave class to
answer the call and then return; you do
not need an explanation or excuse to do this.
But if the cell phone goes off in class, you must leave at that point
and be counted absent for that day.
Service classes
require six and twenty hours of outside work, respectively, for the ten and
eleven o'clock classes. You may not
engage in work that is dangerous in any way, or that creates a problem on a
physical or an emotional level. If you
have any questions, ask the instructor.
Problems may be subjective; that
is, a problem for you may not seem like a problem to your group, but if it is a
problem to YOU, then don't feel that you have to "overcome" it to
pass this course.
Working with the
community requires a certain level of dignity and respect. If you have a problem with the religion,
gender, or anything else of your community contact, this is the wrong project
for you to be doing. I'm not judging
your attitude, but you have to tell me so I can place you in a group that
allows you the greatest chance of making a good grade in the class and of doing
work that is satisfying to both you and to the community contact.
You are representing
University of Houston in the workplace.
YOU are the ambassador of our school in that sense, and people will
judge the entire university by your behavior.
When you graduate, the value of your degree, as well as its
marketability, will depend directly on how the community views University of
Houston.
I understand the
above and agree to the conditions of this class:
