The inspiration for this gown is from two sources...a portrait and a wax figure. The portrait is the only picture people are relatively sure is Kathryn Howard, King Henry VIII's 5th wife. She was beheaded on February 13, 1542, for adultery and treason. The original portrait is here and Madame Tussaud's made a wax figure of her based on that portrait. This is the resulting dress.
This picure was taken at an event at the beginning of Dec 2003. I'm on the far left. The other people in the pic are my three daughters and a friend. You'll notice that my oldest daughters dress matches mine.
