Wicca is a branch of paganism, which includes Buddhism, Hinduism, and the various Earth religions...Wicca, Asatru (which is Norse) and also the Native American beliefs. "Pagan" comes from the Latin word "paganus", which basically means "country dweller". It was used to describe those that lived so far away from the cities that they had not yet heard of Christianity. Now it usually means those that do not subscribe to Christianity, Judaism or Muslim.
Wicca has a God and a Goddess, equal yet different, neither better than the other. There are some groups that emphasize Goddess, but most work equally with both.
There are 8 Wiccan solar holidays throughout the year, following the cycle of the seasons. They are the 2 solstices, the 2 equinoxes, (the Quarters) and the 4 days in between each (Feb 2, May 1, Aug 1, and Oct 31), known as Cross Quarters.
"First they came for the Communists, and I didn't speak up, because I wasn't a Communist.
And here I have listed the Principles of Wiccan Belief.
Here are some more links, to many different things...feel free to explore them at your leisure.
There is a new E-list, started by a friend and I. Here's the description from the group home page... :::Magical Moonsites is a group dedicated to the forging of friendships and sharing of information, experiences and ideas within the worldwide Pagan community. As a group, we are dedicated to the sharing of truthful information from all paths of Paganism and Wicca, as well as squashing rumour and misinformation wherever it may rear it's ugly head. Wiccans and Pagans from all walks of life are welcome to join, share their ideas, and help us further our goal of a worldwide Pagan community, united in perfect love and perfect trust.:::
Then they came for the Jews, and I didn't speak up, because I wasn't a Jew.
Then they came for the Catholics, and I didn't speak up, because I was a Protestant.
Then they came for me, and by that time there was no one left to speak up for me."
