My Poetry
Leaving You
written Jan 1, 1999

The first hint of dawn in the east
The first birdsong in the nearby trees
The warm salty taste of you still on my mouth
The red warmth of you still on my tongue
I rise from your side, silent and swift
I rise from your fleeting heat
Seeing the goodbye left in your eyes, on your face
Seeing the dawn in the east
I flee

Convergence
written Jan 7, 1999

Blood red roses lay scattered
Dying on the black bedecked bed
Draperies of black cut us off
From the too-bright outside world
I draw you close to me and closer still
Until our two hearts beat as one
And we lay back amongst the roses
Their falling petals soft on our skin
Feeling the slickness of black satin sheets
Mingled with the sharp stab of thorns
Candles throw shadows in the so-dark room
Mirrors reflect their glow
Gargoyles watch as our shadows merge
Roses lay forgotten beneath our dance.

Vampire Lover
written Sep 23, 2001

The moon shines down
Giving flesh and air a silvery grace.
All else is darkness and
Shadows that conceal.
The blackness that hides me is deep,
Your vision cannot penetrate it
Though you have sought me long.
I wait for you to come close---
Ever nearer you step to my embrace.
I wait, so very still...
So still that when you finally do see
Your eyes take me at first for yet another statue
A cold angel of death.
You show no fear as you walk ever closer
Not knowing that angel of death
Is my true face.

Snow Angel
written Nov 27, 2001

A cold angel weeps over your grave
Snowflakes building up on the gray stone
She cries for the future you do not have
She cries for me.
There are roses at her feet
Gifts from those that love you-
Bloodred petals bright against the snow
Thorns biting sharp between my fingers.
I lean against the granite angel
She comforts and protects.
Tears drop warm on my hands and
The snowflakes fall thicker
Blotting out the day
Leaving us alone in the dark,
Two cold angels weeping over your grave.

Always
written Nov 7, 2003

The moon rising full
over the headstones and trees
Lights your path to where
I sleep, cold and still.
You've come to say goodbye.
My love, come to me.
Still unaware that I walk the night
Tears fall from your eyes.
The dagger in your hand
reflects the moonlight,
sharp and chill.
My love, come to me.
You plan a forever in death,
to sleep beside me always.
So shall it be.
I rise up before you
Beautiful in death, the woman you love.
My love, come to me.
Together forever,
Join me in waking death.
My love, come to me.
