Plant type: Deciduous bulbs
Plant size: 10-15cm tall and 5cm wide.
Depth & spacing: Plant 5cm deep and 10cm apart.
Watering: Prefers a dry Summer but, in well drained soil, still perform quite well when left planted amongst other Summer-irrigated flowers.
Frost tolerances: Frost hardy.
Flowering time: Autumn.
Preferred soil: Neutral to alkaline soil.
Preferred aspect: A hot sunny spot.
Ideal climates: Cool.
Warnings: Often will not flower the first year whilst they 'settle in'.
Pruning: None required.
Fertilising: Fertilise annually with a general purpose fertiliser at about the time that the tips break through the soil.
Uses & comments: You'll find the golden yellow of these bulbs is very welcome against the dull backdrop of Autumn. Plant in clumps & leave alone to develop into very dense colour highlights. 1
