Steve's game continued to improve, exciting the crowd by coming back from 0-7 in the fifth game to go up 8-7.
Paul ran into another top player from last year who is returning.  Andy is

There is talk of setting up a ladder system similar to Stratfords. It will likely work like the following:

4 players to a ladder.
6 ladders.
They are timed with the start of each month ... ie you have until the end of the month to play the other 3 players on your ladder.
You count points for each game won.
Top player moves up a ladder bottom player moves down.

GO Defeats EL at Elora

Well we were up against the first place team that had only lost to one other team in the first half ... yep us ... David F and Terry were the heros of the night.  David won another tough match that went to 5 against an ex Canadian ranked raquetball player that towered over him.  Terry's match can be somed up by a quote from his opponent "9-0, that's never happened to me in league play before"

Hero of the night was Steve who one the last and deciding match against Mike with a very solid performance

Dan vs Richie  NF4 3 - 2.  Was up 2 - 0 but I couldn't finish
Terry vs Pat NF4 3 - 0.  Pat played a strong game mixing power and touch
Paul vs Paul O NF 4 3 - 1 Tight games great shots
Jerry vs Touch (Joe Allen) NF 4 3 - 1 There is a reason why he is called touch
Joey vs Sandman GO 3 - 0 Joey's strong forehand and quickness was a big factor

Dan defeated Stefan 3 - 1 Stefan was coming back from a layoff, fitness and missed shots were a factor.  Stefan continually made some great gets
Terry defeated Steve 3 - 1??? missed the match
Paul defeated Marco 3 - 2 in a very close match.  Marco is a new player to the team who in 93 played for their varsity team
Brian Bye defeated Bo 3 - 1??? Bo is always a tough match so this was a great win
David Fishburn defeated Dan 3 - 0 ??? missed the match. Dan is moving on so this will be his last season with Guelph.

Terry vs Brad Jones NF1 3 - 0  The 3 - 0 game count was not the only bageling go on here
Dan vs Randy NF1 3 - 1 Close games except for the last.  Randy was this years Greg Moore champion
Paul vs Pierre GO 3 - 0 Good win.
Jerry vs Tom GO 3 - 2 Jerry persevered and came up with a 9 - 0 fifth game
David F vs Trevor NF1 3 - 0 Tough loss.  Trevor was near his last breath in the third game as he was recovering from pneumonia.

Feb 28 GO defeats Cambridge 3-2 at Cambridge

And are now 9 - 5 with 56 points.  
Luke beat Bob 3 - 1.  Luke was sick, Bob was making some nice touch shots
Terry lost to Mark 3 - 0.  Looked like it would be a classic Terry win, down 0 - 2 and then tire out the appponent.  It was 10 - 10 in the third.
Dan lost to Derrick 3 - 1.  
Paul beat Gary 3 - 2.   Great win.  Tough match.  Paul is has got determination
Fishburn beat Sammy 3 - 1.  Dave found lost his touch in the third, then part way through the fourth stopped hitting tin.

March 7 GO Defeats Stratford at home 4 - 1

and are now 10 - 5 yes 10 - 5!!!

The big matchup we have been waiting for Luke vs Brad will happen on Sat April 13. Luck for us Montag will not be available as we take on NF1 in the finals
