Hi!
My name's Sandy and I'm a cat.
An American Long Hair.
That means I'm American and there's more hair than cat.
I'm blond on the underside (easier to see the dirt I collect that way) and sandy-orange on top.
That lets me blend in with the rug very well and every now and again I manage to
spook an unsuspecting visitor.
I was born October 13, 1997, in a barn in eastern Colorado. Being a barn cat, I have dozens of brothers and sisters, but only three are really important to me. They shared litter with me, or something like that, so we always felt very close. |

When I was ten weeks old, I moved to the big city. It's probably not the biggest city, but it seems that way, considering that where I was born there was just a house and a barn (and if I got really brave and looked really hard, I could see two more houses down the road). When I look out the window now, I can see many houses and the grocery store, where all the cool tasty things come from and a military base on the other side. I think the military is there to protect the store, so I can get all sorts of stuff from there. |
|
My siblings still live out in the country. Princess (right) and Scamp (center) are still living at home with mom. Bob (left) moved out, though, and lives with a foster family on a different farm. I'm the big ferocious one, front and center. |
I'm very curious about all sorts of stuff and at any given time,
I can be caught causing trouble.
I really don't see it as trouble myself, but it sure gets everyone around me going!
Sometimes I do stuff just to get attention. I was going to be a model, so I could always have attention, but after trying out a few bags, I discovered they're not really as comfortable as they look. I much prefer boxes, but cardboard doesn't travel well. |
|
I'm learning to work the computer (top), but my paws just aren't as good as they could be when it comes to typing on the keyboard. I thought of making computers into a career, but in retrospect, I think I'll need to keep them a hobby. I like watching the different colors on the screen more than doing something useful, anyway. |
I think mom wanted me to grow up and be a mouser, but there's not much call for good mousers in the city. I learned to catch mice and play with them (before eating), but that was in the barn, where we had a whole bunch. Cities have birds and squirrels, but I'm yet to bag one. | |
In the meantime, I found a nice place,
got a roommate and practice the only skill I truly know...
|
I think my roommate (center) is a space pirate or something. He has a lot of strange friends and they do really weird stuff. But when they come over, everyone's really nice to me. They play with me and brush me and every now and again I bite someone. But no one gets mad because I'm so cute...except for one lady, but she lives with dogs, so what does she know? |

I consider myself a 21st century cat, which is why I opted for a web page. I'm a social animal and will be more than happy to answer e-mail. Please leave your mark in my guestbook. |
