The Lake of the
Woods Section of the Canadian Institute of Forestry is one of 23 sections
across Canada. The section was granted official standing in March, 1953.
The section is comprised of forestry practitioners and those with a keen interest
in natural resources. Members have been active in their respective communities,
meeting and exchanging information to enhance our knowledge and that of the
general public. The section has contributed to the overall Mission of the
CIF to advance the stewardship of Canada's forest resources, provide national
leadership in forestry, promote competence among forestry professionals,
and foster public awareness of Canadian and international forestry issues.
