Bill's recent travels.
Hi!
You have found Bill Steinhour's Home Page.
I am a Broadcast Television Engineer and Technical Director with the U.S. Department of State Television Division in Washington, DC.
I came to DC when I was in the Navy and assigned to the
White House Communications Agency in 1982. I like Virginia so much I decided to stay!
Above is a picture the NY Times took for an article they wrote about On-line Auctions, which is where I bought my Mercedes 300D using eBay's auction Service.
Below is a picture me in front of Casa de Moneda, the Presidential home in Santiago, Chile. It was very cloudy.
I am a member of the Potomac Appalachian Trail Club, where I maintain a back woods Cabin and man the Information Desk a couple times a month.
I also belong to theIzaak Walton League of America, and Single Volunteers.
I live in Herndon Virginia, 25 miles west of Washington DC, on the fringe of the secondary nuclear blast zone. I work near ground zero. I work for the U.S. Department of State in International Broadcasting as the Technical Director of our global broadcasting network. We broadcast around the world to our Embassies with Diplomatic programming and other Public Affairs based projects. I love my job!
My next Murder Mystery weekend in Harpers Ferry, WV will be coming up soon. Email me for more information

People ask me why I love living in Virginia. With the views along Skyline Drive, who wouldn't love this State?
One of my favorite activities is Horseback riding through the mountains. Seeing the colors change in the fall is just amazing.
This is at the Missile Park Museum at the White Sands Missile Range near Las Cruces, NM.
Here are a few more of my favorite things:
Bike riding along the C&O canal running from Harpers Ferry to Washington DC. It is a great place to ride bikes and enjoy the scenery. These were taken near Great Falls on the Maryland side on a hot and steamy August afternoon.
DC in the Spring time means Cherry Blossoms!
The Maryland Renaissance Festival. This gal was our Cheer Wench during the Jousting contest!
From my friend Chili's farm. I got up early and rode the 4X4 ATV to a nearby vineyard where I took this grape blossom picture.
Hiking the Signal Knob trail last fall.
Laughing horse, trying to get another carrot. Taken at the Mountain Top Ranch Shenandoah, Virginia.
