STUDIES:
Awarded Master of Science degree in the School of Botany and Zoology, University of Natal, Pietermaritzburg in March, 2002. Title of dissertation: "Revision of some dwarf chameleons from eastern South Africa". University undergraduate courses in Geography, Basic Statistics, Information Systems, Entomology, Biogeography and the Scientific Method and postgraduate courses in Systematics. Also completed courses in Customs and Excise Law and Documentation, Business Communications, Shipping Containerisation, Bovine Artificial Insemination, Computerised Statistics and Assertiveness, Stress & Time Management.
I U C N - SPECIES SURVIVAL COMMISSION:
Member of the I U C N Species Survival Commission African Reptile and Amphibian Specialist Group since 1994.
BIODIVERSITY PROGRAMME:
Initiated African Herpetofaunal Biodiversity Programme (AHBP) in 1995 (concept programme transferred to IUCN SSC African Reptile and Amphibian Specialist Group at 3rd World Congress of Herpetology, Prague, 1997).
EARTHWATCH FELLOWSHIP AWARD:
Awarded an Earthwatch Europe fellowship to join "Kenya's Wild Forest" hoverfly project at Kakamega Forest for 2 weeks in June 1995. Fellowship sponsored by the European Communities, arranged through World Wide Fund for Nature - South Africa and involved being part of an international team assisting in a biodiversity survey of this threatened rain forest.
