This is a poem I made for one of my favorite animated characters: Scar, from
"The Lion King". It's inspired on the stories I've written and on my
views of him. Hope you like it! :)
I know...
I know that you're feeling sad and lonely,
I know that your feelings are harsh and painful,
But I also know that behind that rude behavior,
a great and kind heart is hiding.
No one understood your reasons
for acting the way you did,
but I had the power to look inside yourself,
and found out that appearances can be deceitful.
You shouldn't have worried
about being just "second best",
You shouldn't have felt sorry
because you were small and he was big,
But, I know you are very sensitive,
and, knowing that made me realize
that it's not easy to forget
things that hurt you and made you weep.
Maybe, knowing that I also feel sad and lonely,
would put your mind at ease...
Maybe, knowing that I understand you
would help you smile again...
Just remember that I will always be there for you,
no matter what happens, no matter what people say,
I'm sticking to you.
I know that you have cried a lot,
even though some people say
you have a heart made of stone...
I don't care about what they think or say,
because I know about your sorrows,
about your troubles and your desires,
and your guilts.
But I don't blame you, because
I am not in the position for blaming anyone,
and this is what the rest of the people
need to understand.
I know we need each other,
because for the first time,
you feel love, and I give love...
I know I will be happy at last,
and I know that my life won't be the same,
with you, by my side,
forever...
