Boondoggle

Don’t do it, procrastinate 
   wait
enjoy the moment...
doing nothing at all.

Embrace the feeling - 
listlessness, nonachievement
   non-fulfillment -
of that you were meant to do.

Sit back relax, taking time out
   grasp the slackness 
      do what they say
you shouldn’t
before your nose is back to the grindstone.

Alone, left to your own devices
   indulge your vices, your need to
wander, walk nowhere,
daydream, doodle, improvise...

Do all this nothing, soon
you’ll have to return to 
what must be done, 
which seems unnecessary

If only it were true.
