Blow out the candles quick, 
as age creeps up quietly,
stalking childish naivety,
replacing it with worry.

mediocrity rounds the corner
   beware!!!
your longings to be older,
bigger and stronger

It's a big ugly beautiful world out there
for you   life maybe   a present
enjoy  it if your lucky,
or plucky enough to overcome
the high hurdles 
towering above you;
(get used to that feeling)

their locked gates
   and glass ceilings.

Happiness is a gift
   accept it 
while you can appreciate
refusal will be a mistake
one of many you’ll make

I’m sure you can do it!

One breath and you make
   your wish that might come true
Happiness is for you,
blow out those candles quickly
while they are but a few.
