serenaded by cute couples,
functional families and Friends

bewitched by busty babes
and a plethora of middle-class angst
we've been transported - our sentence
a cultural cringe of ‘candy’
‘bathrooms’ and global villages

The bushranger faces the cowboy
metal plates vs. silicone implants
knowing cultural invasion is a
two-way street
McDonalds, Coke, Oprah
will be resisted
like the bungalow, siesta and jazz

but they didn't see it coming -
Crocodile Dundee, Gordon Elliot and meat pies
- our revenge will be sweet

the deluge of new right dogma
will be met by our exportation of
our own right-wing thespians
eager to embrace unrestrained wealth
and they can have our media magnates too
