The existentialism of a haircut

I walk in
sit down
there’s a whining

as I sit, reflected
another sits, to be relieved
as I am

giving a cursory glance
   and a quick nod
   I stand up
offer my currency
sacrificed like my coiffure
my head and wallet lighter
   I walk out

now I’m a different man?
