For a Better World

For the day when landmines are gone
and the walls come tumbling down
from around the private golf clubs
when freedom and fairness come to town

we must fight for anti-celebrity
for the wonder of the ordinary person
against privilege and laws against the poor
for recognising the poverty of a millionaire's son

No more pandering to prejuidice and bigotry
we must end this pandering to the rich
its the workers who have built this world
its clearly time to make the switch

love of liberty will guide us
but responsibility we will heed
its time we embraced equality
anarchy, propaganda of the deed!

May the fires of freedom inspire us all
let community guide our many hands
no hierarchy shall be welcome in our midst
nor in the many different, distant lands
