Orange

Orange, that lonely word
with no rhyming partners

Orange is a fashion orphan
clothing only the desert

Orange is that mystical hue
brief in Autumn’s carpet

Orange is an orchard child
found in wild surroundings

Orange spins the prayer wheels
and collects Rolls-Royces

Orange is that inbetween
that light of uncertainty

Orange is the ribbon of tolerance
and a tangy sugar overdose

Orange sings sweetest in C
and bestows nocturnal vision

Orange, my enlightened Orange
