Subject: Emerging Life on Planet
XCM123232144
(also known as - Earth, Terra, Hicktown
)
A new life-form has emerged on the
planet. This life-form is the Consumer. At some time in the twentieth
century, the Consumer replaced the Human. Whereas the Human replaced
Man, bringing great benefits to the Woman and the Child, the rise
of the consumer has crowded out creatures such as the Soul, the
Community and the increasingly rare Nature and its cousins the
Environment and the Wilderness.
Meanwhile, the Multinational and
the Economy are busy colonising and invading all areas of the
globe, replacing the Empire. However, the National Interest still
persists in small numbers. It is thought that the Consumer has
evolved from the Economy and its close relations such as the Free
Market and the Advertising Agency, being selected by climatic
developments such as Post-war Affluence and Anti-communism. The
prospects of the Consumer are promoted by the collapse of the
Eastern Bloc and Inflation. A life-form that acts as a parasite
on the Consumer has also been observed. This parasite, the Computer,
is a non-organic life form, which is involved in a complex eco-system
involving the Military, the Information age and the Internet.
The Consumer has proliferated due
to several evolutionary advantages. The most important of these
is a process that causes mutation in other life-forms. In this
manner, other life-forms are turned into Consumers by a combination
of the processes of Psychological Warfare, Deprivation of Identity
and the removal of all Stimuli. However, the Consumer may not
be as successful as initially thought. The Consumer will face
competition from the Environmentalist and the Anarchist and other
life forms who are favoured by climates featuring Scepticism,
Dissatisfaction and Realisation. The development of Critical Thinking,
Self-confidence and Real Democracy could see the Human recover
from potential extinction.
It should be remembered that the
life-forms mentioned in the above report are all bipedal beings
of a particular type (XCM123232144 40041). The future development
of life on this planet is considered likely to see other life-forms
survive these bipedal forms, whose intelligence may be ultimately
flawed.
