while we crucify the immigrant,
single mothers, the young…
they're here for your entertainment

the probing questions of the pompadour
exposes of the evil repair man,
we were overwhelmed by responses
manufacture concern, you bet we can!

A passion play needs a scapegoat
a fairy-tale needs a princess
we don’t need analysis
just mud with which we coat
tabloid fangs go for the throat!

Benny Mendoza’s life was too short
like the rope around his neck
he didn’t court celebrity, but he got it

heed the call - “All judges on deck!”

at least Christ chose his death

meanwhile a media martyr has invaded our lives
we have been regaled by teary reminisces and lies
seas of flowers and oceans of tears have flowed
and the Man with the Perfect Hair has crowed,
reigning vitriol on those who killed a fairytale princess,
while he studiously avoids Mrs Mendoza’s duress
