Mid-Life Crisis Blues
I got the mid-life crisis blues
my wife ain't what she used to be
I'm gonna trade her in on a newer model
and get some young thing to flatter me
but life ain't no hollywood film
and what's closer to the fact
is that my gut is getting bigger
and my muscles running to fat
my hair is falling out
a whole clump fell out today
it's a terrible disappointment
when you know you're going grey
i got the mid-life crisis blues
I can't even run a k
my heart can't keep time
when i wan't sex i have to pay
i'm killing myself
for someone elses's dream
that's really unattainable
and further away than it seems
i'm heading towards retirement
and putting out to pasture
I keep on getting slower
and the world's just getting faster
i got the mid-life crises blues
and I'm sitting at this bar
I could have fathered every one of you
In the back seat of my car
But that ain't gonna stop
a sly old dog like me
just show me a bit of interest
and you'll get your drinks for free
I've got all of the ideas
though i'm not sure what to do
but i'm on the hunt for novelty
I can only hope that you are too
I got the Mid-Life Crisis Blues
don't know if they will go away
only know I'm not gonna change
'cause there ain't no other way
