Subject: Libelle in Trinidad

Greetings All,

Quick update on the island adventure: After getting everything organized, cleaned and washed out, we have been indulging in a little island life. Charles and Yvonne introduced Rosi and Jim to some island food: roti, doubles, sorrel, peas and rice, stew chicken. They seem to love it, especially with a little hot sauce! Yesterday we went to Maracas Falls. We went there with some of Charles' friends and relatives Roderick, Mary, Bikram, Shirley and Ricardo) and everyone had a great time. Roderick and Mary don't seem to get out and have a good time unless they have visitors! The rainy season is still here and we get showers every day. This made for a great water fall and has also helped to keep Charles cool and to clean the salty boat and the dirty sun shade.

Boat repairs are going well so far. Jim climbed up the mast this morning and took down the anemometer and wind direction indicator (These failed fairly early in the trip). He plans to repair the head today - this failed a few days out of Trinidad. We have to find some replacement for Turbo :-( (the power generator that we drag behind the boat). We ost "poor Turbo" somewhere out in 6000 meters of water and had to rely on the engine to charge the batteries for the last few days of the crossing.

We'll keep you updated about further plans as they develop. In the meanwhile, Rosi and Jim are happy to receive emails for the next week or so at libelle91@hotmail.com Charles and Yvonne will be leaving on Thursday morning bound for New Orleans. We have opted for the FAST route through the air this time :-)

Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and New Years, and, as always,

Alles Gouda,
The Libelliods:
Yvonne, Charles, Rosi and Jim 1
