dear friends, please excuse our recent gap in communication. part of this has been because we are
just having too much fun to write much other than the logbook. also acceass to computers here has been
difficult or superexpensive. hence, our weekly e/mail check in is turning into a very occasional event.
however we have had very good contact with Ken on Argenta in Mandeville La. on 8101 kHz at 2200
UT (that is 400 pm cst or 500 pm est) Herz was up once for this and very clear in Jan. Ken can
forward any urgent messages mailto:argenta98@hotmail.com but we still enjoy reading your
messages sent to mailto:libelle91@hotmail.com thanks craig and carol for your personal
responses. hold the attachments Donny. Last tue. we bid farewell to baerbel and gerhard, who
cruised the sea of Abaco with us for almost 2 weeks. we enjoyed the lighthouse view and quaint
village of hopetown on superbowl weekend. we then sailed downwind in warm southerlies to
treasure cay where we spent the day on the beach with picknick lunch featuring jerked chicken and
pork with fresh coconut water. we needed the help of a local woodcarver with his ax in operning the
husks and paid him with rum. Jim started his search for conch at great guana cay where snorkeling was
bautiful on the atlantic reefs. as we mooved south we stopped at scotland cay to look for conch and
later stayed on a mooring in the boatbuilding harbour of man o'war cay. finally we sailed to the
southend of elbow cay where G and B. topped off their tans at tahiti beach and jim searched for conch
in the tilloo cut. all in all it was a fun visit with great sailing weather despite the threats on the net of
cold fronts. G &B went home with coconuts , rum and golden skin. Jim is still searchin for conch.
as soon as weather allows we will moove south off the little Bahama bank. meanwhile Happy
Valentines from JIm and Rosi.
