DEAR FRIENDS: In our last message we forgot to mention one important event - Jim finally caught some fish
while trolling behind LIBELLE with a handline. thanks to a tip from CHARLOTTE D (a candian ketch) of a
specific spoon and thanks to rosi's guide skills, we caught enough macarel and yellowtailed snapper for 3 days.
upon arrival in gulfport, we were very salty. after cleaning the worst of it off LIBELLE and our bodies, we
enjoyed a lovely buffet dinner at beau rivage, compliments of carol mathews. the trip "home" through the rigolets
went without a hitch and we actually got to sail on lake pontchartrain. it was great to see yvonne and charles
again along with friends gail and warren COMPROMISE and kenny ARGENTA. while at home in beaau chene
we occasionally have good propagation to check in with the cruizheimers 8152 mhz at 0830 est. meanwhile jim
finally passed his morse code 5 wpm exam-now tech plus-general ham still coming. this allowed time for daily
kayak tours on the tschefuncta river. thanks for the tips on the paddle selection dave manion. we had exellent
transition between living aboard and travel with yvonne and charles at their home before flying out of baton
rouge to hamburg where baerbel and gerhard picked us up with flowers. Also had surprise welcome at airport
from Wolf Dieter and Sigrid (Rosi's nephew and cousin respectively) Since then B&G have been taking very
good care of us including 6 days stay at a firendīs "vacation house" in Berlin where Rosi attended a Kranken
Gymnastik class reunion. We all enjoyed the new twist of reunification esecially around the ALEXander Platz
-formerly eastberlin. highlight for rosi was a "DAMPFER" tour boat ride on the spree river through the center of
the capitol city. expecting a visit from horst and sigrid tomorrow and getting ready for oster feuer - that is not
only rosis favorite herb tea from the island of ruegen but also a pre easter bon fire in the village of worpswede.
we are working on plans to visit conyplex in medemblik holland (LIBELLE'S birthplace) and possibly the
trintella werft.further input Paul and Janet? auch freuen wir uns weiter auf besuch mit elke, wolfgang
