Dear Friends, Our landcruise is complete. Upon our return to Baton Rouge in
early May, we suffered with 90F=32C heat and high humidity under the
"covered wagon" shade tree awning on Libelle in the marina. We were glad to
spend the first weekend with Yvonne and Charles in their air conditioned
home. Also enjoyed breakfast (early start to avoid heat) in the canoe and
kayak on the alligator bayou. Cool air behind a front made it possible to
complete our maintainence tasks aboard and pack up the newly acquired
camper
shell on the truck for the drive North. We had some signs of clutch
slipping
with thr heavy load on the old 242,000 miles=389,400km toyota. In Illinois
Marcus and his friends from the froggy racing team (dirt track stock car
builders) did a professional repair job under the hoist in his garage.
Thanks to Jeff, DiWayne and Tom who helped him wiggle and jiggle the trans
back into the pilot bearing and bolt it all together again. On to Madison,
Wis. during a warm spell where we had valuable time bonding with Payden and
Saylor while staying at Matt and Nola's. Rosi's DR. Appts. went well-tooth
fixed in one trip to Dentist. It was great to visit with many of you during
our one week in the Madcity. Despite overload for ou 300 mile journey into
this cold country, we arrived without breakdown at the trailer just before
total darkness. Other than minor indications of very hungry mice over the
winter all is well at the trailer and Paddy's Hurricane looks good in her
cradle at Corny. For the 7th time this year we are experiencing early
spring
conditions. Socks and gloves required. The many deer are still wearing
their
grey winter coats. We expect to launch PH within one week (waiting for
delivery of new prop), will return to Madison in less than three weeks-Rosi
for wedding of Marcus's eldest son Christopher on 21 June and Jim to
sheepshead bonders annual outing, reunion with Yvonne flying in from BR. We
plan to cruise Lake Superior; destination NE corner-Canada's Pukaskwa
National Park beginning July. Check the updated Website
