Hello Friends, Things are coming along slowly with the boat preparations. We have completed the electrical upgrade and are most happy with the improved output of the new alternator and really like the new battery monitor. [No need to bend the copper tubing for the sea water cooling, Orrie] Our self steering gear got tied up in a business dispute between the US franchise and the German manufacturer, but a Heimatlands email from Rosi to the CEO in Hamburg prompted instant airfreight of the "Windpilot". We should be able to pick it up on Mon. at the airport. Peter is now working on the SSB. Rosi is almost finished with the weather cloths (Navy canvas "curtains" on the lifelines around the cockpit to keep us warm and "dry"). I'm still buying plumbing parts for the RO water-maker. If we can get the Windpilot installed next week we'll have an excuse (sea trial) to go sailing when Matt gets here. We have enjoyed visits from the Longeneckers, Smiths, Gernot, the Lokkens and Holcombs. Looking forward to Barb and Deb,Matt and the Herzogs. ALLES GOUDA von FOLLY BEACH!
