Greetings,
This is from Yvonne's brother Matt: I spoke with the Libelle crew this
morning; they tried to wake us early, but they couldn't beat Payden. Payden
is doing well, by the way. Each day brings new excitement. Got to play
with him for a few minutes this morning while Mom caught up on her
sleep...then he got hungry. He managed to throw his rattle around for a
while and he seems to like Checker (a little toy from Wayne and Mary) to
squeak on his belly. But enough about me.
The crew has arrived in Royan. Things with the crew are great. The boat on
the other hand seems to showing it's wear. Aside from the chronic problem
with the sounder (shich we are trying to resolve) the engine is getting to
be a bit of a problem. Jim mentioned something about white smoke and
overheating; an engine guy is coming around today to look things over. I
want to say it's a Yanmar guy, but that would be on Paddy's Hurricane.
Anywho, the crew feels that they made good time from Horta - 13 days. They
expect to be in Bordeaux on the 9th of July. (Perhaps they were leaving
for Bordeaux on the 9th.) Wolfgang must return to work on the 9th, I
believe. They will step the mast at Bordeaux and this is where Paul & Janet
will meet them for some lovely touring (and wine drinking I'm sure) through
the Canal du Midi.
For now, Big Cheeses to you all,
Matt, Nola and Payden
