Libelle is tied up stern to the sea wall in Milazzo. We got up at 0400 yesterday to catch a northgoing tidal current in the straights of Messina, but there was a thunderstorm with strong wind out of the north. By 0500 it had let up some and we took off. we had a reasonable trip between some lightening and benefitted from the the current at Punto Pezzo sometimes making 9 knots on the GPS while motorsailing with the main alone. As we came out of the straights at Capo Peloro the storm caught up to us and it poured rain cleaning Libelle of city dirt. Then we had strong wind on the nose. FINALLY we sailed the last 15 nm into harbor here. We have a choice of two internet sites here and will return after cruising the Lipari Islands to meet Dan and Pat on Sept. 20; then Baerbel and Gerhart on the 25th. So you can send any messages to the hotmail address and we will check for them then.
