Greetings!

I got a call from Rosi yesterday morning. They are in Benne Meldena (sp?). I can't find this on the map, but I think it is somewhat further along the coast between Malaga and Gibralter. They are fixing things up a bit, reprovisioning the boat, and waiting for a weather window to Gibralter. Jim went diving to remove barnacles and other build-up from the prop. They also had to fix up the speedometer and do a big cleaning job on the refrigerator. The winds are fairly strong out of the southwest - right on their nose. Since they are not in a great hurry, I imagine that they will just hang out until some better weather appears. The area is very nice, and receives a lot of tourists from the UK.

Instead of heading from Gibralter along the coast of Morrocco, they may (depending on weather) head out a bit and go to Madeira - an island north of the Canaries which belongs to Portugal. They will be nosing around Madeira and the Canaries until Matt, Nola and Payden come to the Canaries in mid-Decemeber. They plan to head across again soon after Matt et al. leave. I don't have any other details about the Caribbean leg of their tour, but if anyone has firm plans and would like to try and meet up with R&J some time in the Caribbean, please forward me your itinerary, and I will pass along the info to R&J.

Rosi said to be sure to say hello to everyone - they are doing great and life is easy. Jim tells himself everyday that he will go back to work on April 1st - an appropriate "April Fool's Day" :-)

Alles Gouda,
