Hi All,

I got another call from Rosi and Jim this morning. They are still at Sheppards marina in Gibralter. They *might* get a weather window to head off to the Canaries tomorrow morning. They have been having contant west winds, but tonight they are supposed to shift around to the east with Force 3 (8-12 mph). Jim said that their wind meter must be "sugar-coating" the story for them. The highest winds recorded at the airport while they were at anchor outside the harbor was 56 mph (Force 10). THIS is some seriously scary wind!

They are now planning to head directly for the Canaries and not try to get to Madiera. I looked at some sea/wind/weather maps and noticed that there is some heavy weather all along the coast of Europe. http://www.nlmoc.navy.mil/wsi/seas/ngp00alltime.html

Looks like they may be haunted by this system for while. At any rate, they will contact me by phone, email or answering machine before they leave. I hope the weather starts cooperating a little more!

Until next time - Alles Gouda,

Yvonne 1
