The rest of our time was spent with fixing the sails, talking, reading, looking at the birds. We saw shearwaters (pictured here), petrels, and white-tailed tropic birds. These birds spend almost all their lives on the open ocean, going back to the land only to raise their young. The shearwaters and tropic birds seemed mildly interested in us, but none of them landed on the boat. |
