Irv Shannon of the Mars Hill planning group is involved with the Harmonious
Volunteer Center. Irv's two msgs of 9/10 were a bit puzzling to Dave, who
knew little beforehand of HVC. See Irv's 9/13 msg for a better explanation
of HVC's mission and various projects.
In his acknowledgment of my msg on 9/10, Subject:
Computer Reuse Program, Irv notes that at HVC he was " ... presenting
a Journalism Training Program to the Leadership Council to which it is
envisioned that approximately 1,000 computer systems will be needed, maybe
more...."
Dave answered 9/11 Re: Computer Reuse Program
Irv also sent Dave a brief 9/10 msg to HVC folks, Help
- Involvement, delegation for HVC growth
Dave answered 9/11 Re: Help - Involvement, delegation

Irv wrote at length in his 9/13 HVC Memorandum.
Some highlights:
The Harmonious Volunteer Center has under PROJECT YOUTH established
several programs regarding positive activities for youth development. One
such program "KIDS ARE CREATIVE" addresses the concerns that
we have for youth empowerment. The Harmonious Volunteer Center has been
a participant with the "YOUTH OPPORTUNITIES INITIATIVE" sponsored
by "TO OUR CHILDREN'S FUTURE WITH HEALTH, INC." since February,
1999....
On September 10, 1999 the Harmonious Volunteer Center presented a communication
proposal to the Greater Philadelphia Urban League Leadership Council (GPUAC)
as a part of an overall plan to address Welfare To Work issues. JOURNALISM
TRAINING PROGRAM is what is being presented, which will effectively address
adult literacy, preparation for industry employment, crime reduction and
prevention, and social inter-action skill development....
COMPUTER ACCESS/COMPUTER TRAINING through MARS HILL ...
The Harmonious Volunteer Center, Inc., has introduced several fund
