Who ?

In May 1997 friends of acarology have met at the University of Bremen and a working group "Mites" was founded within the Scientific Club of Bremen (Naturwissenschaftlicher Verein Bremen)

What ?

We want to focus on soil inhabiting mites with special interest in Gamasina. We want to get an impression of the diversity of morphological types of different sites. We will try to correlate morphological characteristics of mites and parameters of their habitats. We will therefore not work in a quantitative way. We will try to supplement the list of species found within the city of Bremen.
