TAVENGWA'S HOME AREA

Situated in the northen part on Zaka district of Masvingo province in Zimbabwe, Zvinoitavamwe village is a small village with less than 30 households. This village is about 15-20 kilometres south of Bikita Minerals (producer of Lithium in Zimbabwe). The area is governed under Muroyi sub-chief who is under Chief Nhema.

In terms of infrastructure development, this area is not very developed. There is one dust road passing through the area and the bridges are a constant problem during the rain season. The nearest clinic is Bvukururu Clinic (Zaka Council clinic) which is about one to two kilometres from the village and is manned by nurses without a doctor. Complicated cases are referred to Ndanga District Hospital. The nearest township is Bvukururu Business Centre which is also about one to two kilometres from the village. Two schools are in the village, one a junior school catering for Grade One to Grade Seven and another a secondary school going as far as Form Four. I attended both school for my education.
