The following are links to some interesting sites that I've run into during the course of my browsing around on the Web, a.k.a. slacking off at work. As with all of the other stuff on this site, this page too is perpetually under construction and will be updated whenever I feel like it. If you notice any outdated or nonworking links here, please e-mail me and let me know.

Filmmaking and art-related links

The Cinema of Transgression

This site gives a bit of background info on the 1980s New York underground film movement that has become known as the Cinema of Transgression. This site doesn't present the genre as well as it could, but it gives a bit of information and it's the best thing I could come up with on this fucking internet. :P If you find yourself interested in this stuff, you may want to check out Jack Sargent's book (a book?!? egads! No webpage! How primitive!) "Deathtripping: The Cinema of Transgression", which is published by Creation Books and probably available through Amazon.com.

The National Coalition Against Censorship

Censorship is a huge threat to many artists, filmmakers, writers, and others trying to express their ideas and feelings publicly. This site has some useful info on what you can do to deal with or stop censorship

Nerve.com--"Literate Smut"

The latest addition to my links page...Nerve.com is a tastefully sleazy little webzine that I found out about strangely enough by reading a book about it. (Ya get the feeling that I do a lot of that, don't you?) This site features rather interesting essays and photography by both unknowns and a few notable artists like R. Kern, Poppy Z. Brite, and others.

PUG - The underground Webzine

Yet another webzine...found this one by accident! Lots of good stuff to read over here..a quick peek showed me an article on the Changelings, memoirs of Cosy Fanni Tutti, and an interview with Nick Zedd.

Music links

Current 93

Current 93 is one of my favorite bands, and indeed is the source of the nickname PaleQueen that I sometimes use on IRC channels and mailing lists. There are a ton of C93 related websites out there, but Skot's site is the "official" one and also one of the best. Please note, this site is supposedly moving. Haven't gotten a chance to check up on it yet, though.

Strawberry Switchblade

80's pop band featuring Rose McDowall, who has been invoved with C93, DiJ, Boyd Rice/Spell, Ornamental, etc. etc.

The Legendary Pink Dots

LPD is another one of my favorite bands. This site is supposedly the new home of the official Legendary Pink Dots page. There is a lot of other music and band info on the rest of brainwashed.com...take a look at some of the links off this site.

Middle Pillar

Mail order music sales company run by some really great folks from NYC. They carry a lot of rarities, oddities, and limited editions at for the most part reasonable prices. If you are in the New York area, you might be interested to know that MP sometimes does vendor tables at local events.

Formaldehyde Fix

And I don't even care how she died; I like 'em better when they smell of formaldehyde! Very funny leedle comic. It makes me smile.

Deathrock.com

Deathrock.com. 'Nuff said, providing it's still up & running.

Miscellaneous Links--People, Places, & Things

Tygre's Fonts for Freaks

Interesting, creepy, cool, and just plain bizarre downloadable fonts. Jenna/Tygre has put a lot of time and effort into this site and it's truly wonderful. :)

Skin Crawl

Unconventional accessories, jewelry, etc etc. Skin Crawl's merchandise is very unique and affordable. They no longer have the store on East 4th Street in Manhattan, so here's the place to buy their stuff now.
