Dividing Water Lilies

I use 16" plastic bowls for my lilies. The bowls are about 7" deep. The bowls are terra cotta colored so we spray paint the visible edges black so that they are less visible in the bottom of the pond. Four fertilizer pellets are placed in the bottom of each pot. We feed our lilies with 4 pellets every two to three weeks during the growing season.

When repotting hardy lilies, the cut edge of the rhizome is placed against the edge of the pot. This gives the growing tip more room to grow.
