Ranunculus tubers are planted in the fall for early Spring flowers. After flowering the plant will die back in the winter. They will naturalize in this area, but we usually lift them in the late spring and replant them in the fall. The young shoots of newly sprouted ranunculus bulbs are considered a delicacy by birds.
