The water hawthorne is very fragrant. It prefers the cool seasons. This photo was taken in November. Although the water lilies have slowed down, the water hawthorne is loaded with flowers. The water hawthorne leaves are long and narrow. The heart shaped leaves in the photo belong to a nearby water lily. One of the submerged plants, anacharis, can also be seen in the photo.
