When I hear his songs I am taken back to a time in my youth that was exciting and new (as was his music) What a gift from God he had to be able to express his spirit in words and then to add the beautiful melody that always touches my spirit when I sing along with him.

I loved John Denver and his beautiful music more than words can possibly express. The pain that I felt upon learning of his death was so deeply profound that it is only now, 16 months after his death, that I can look at a picture of him without crying. My only consolation has been that he died doing what he loved....flying. As a musician, his songs are some of my favorite to preform. I will always miss John, his love for the earth, his meaninful lyrics, his soul.

Eleven months...Wow! Just checked in to the original memorial page, and when I noticed it wasn't there, I was disappointed. I needed to re-conenct to John, his music, and those who felt the same...Found this terrific link and I am grateful to once again h ve the opportunity to share my feelings. I sing some of John's less popular tunes in concert, and am always inspired and encouraged to continue to be the best I can be. I can't say enough about what JD meant to me. I simply loved him. His music touched and continues to touch my life. As a young married I would listen to his music by the hour, I have many of his albums, the vinyl ones, don't have a turn table anymore b t I still have them. I played them so much they are scratchy sounding. Thank goodness for CDs. I loved JD for his message, his boyish delight in the world and people around him. John's music has helped me through the lonely times and the happy times nd the sad times. He helped me through my divorce and my children know I am in a serious cleaning mode when I crank up the volume on John's music. Life will be forever, FAR OUT!! You are missed dear friend, but I know you are close. Thank you for all he good times, and the sad times and one day Perhaps Love....

I miss him sooo MUCH! God must really have wanted him to sing to the angels and Mother Teresa, Princess Diana, and Jacques Cousteau. What a party they must be having while we grieve here on earth!
