Easily the most common palm in Oregon and the Northwest. Leaves deeply divided and suceptable to wind damage. Single erect trunk usually covered with dense fiber, but is sometimes stripped clean revealing a grayish trunk. Slow to moderate growth in most areas, faster growth in warm winter areas. Flowers yellow, in clusters 18in long.
