WAYSIDE GARDENS- their plants cost more than some others, but they offer more mature plants ready to go into your yard or garden. Because they are more mature, their chances of survival after planting are greater. They also offer garden accessories and accents.
SPRINGHILL NURSERY- their plants are fairly mature and of good quality. Springhill has recently started putting the planting zones for each plant in their catalog, so we don't have to guess anymore whether the plant is suitable for our region of the country. I liked the catalog before, but this is a huge plus for gardeners!
PARK SEED- all the seeds that I have purchased have done well.
There is a very detailed guide in their catalog that lets you know the
requirements of each type of seed. It also tells you which seeds are easy
to grow and how long you can expect it to take to germinate. It also offers
live plants, bulbs, and garden implements. It is an excellent catalog.
Your local nursery is still the best place to buy plants. They have selections
that are hardy in your area, you can inspect the plants yourself, and you
can usually get a more mature plant for less money than the catalogs offer.
I usually go to the catalogs for plants, and especially seeds, that I can't
find in my area.
