Sea Shepherd Conservation Society--The Sea Shepherd Conservation Society has been on the front lines since 1977, directly defending the world's marine wildlife to maintain global biodiversity. This is achieved through the research, investigation and video-documentation of violations of international laws, regulations and treaties established to protect these species.

The Wildlands Project--As a new millenium begins, society approaches a watershed for wildlife and wilderness. The environment of North America is at risk and an audacious plan is needed for its survival and recovery. Healing the land means reconnecting its parts so that vital flows can be renewed. The land has given much to us; now it is time to give something back to begin to allow Nature to come out of hiding and to restore the links that will sustain both wilderness and the spirit of future human generations.
The idea is simple. To stem the disappearance of wildlife and wilderness we must allow the recovery of whole ecosystems and landscapes in every region of North America. Allowing these systems to recover requires a long term design. This design must rest on the spirit of social responsibility that has built so many great institutions in the past. Our mission is to protect and restore the ecological integrity and native biodiversity of North America through the establishment of a connected system of conservation reserves.

Climate Action NOW! Are we doing enough to save the earth? How much would it cost to rebuild our entire civilization? Is this the ecological deficit we are leaving for our children?
The quantities of Greenhouse Gases, such as Carbon Dioxide, Methane and CFCs, which have already been produced by industrial societies is at a level which has triggered the comings and goings of Earth's Ice Ages during the last million years. Recent discoveries in the geological record reveal that transitions into and out of ice ages are marked by cataclysmic changes in climate conditions and sea levels.
We can not depend upon gradual climate changes or sea level variations staying within ranges to which we can accomodate ourselves during a Greenhouse Century. 120,000 years ago, conditions were very similar to what they are now, when the last ice age began. Earth suddenly lurched into what scientists refer to as the Madhouse Century, the transition period into the Ice Age. During the Madhouse Century sea levels abruptly rose 20 feet from where they are now, and then plummeted fifty feet, all in one hundred years.
The magnitude of the climate crisis requires nothing less than an all-out emergency effort to convert western economies away from fossil-fuel dependence. To build a truly sustainable economy and eliminate human interference with global climate cycles, Climate Action NOW! will present a wide range of resource access for activists, educators, and journalists and opportunities for personal involvement in what must become one of the greatest mobilization efforts in human history.
Stop Outer Beltway! The State of Maryland's proposed Interstate 370, also known as the Inter County Connector, is part of an effort to piecemeal OUTER BELTWAYS around Washington, D.C. This site includes maps of the ICC and the Outer Beltway, as well as photos of the ancient trees, wetlands, rivers and communities in the ICC's path. This site will be "under construction" until the Year 2000 global computer crash makes new highway construction impossible. If it somehow revives after the crash, future updates will describe the Supplemental and Final Environmental Impact Statements, legal challenges and other methods for blocking the ICC.
