Conservation for Real People
This page was designed to provide tips and ideas for
adults, parents, and children, that are fun and easy.
Motivation behind this site:

I am a 28 year old PhD student, whose main area of study is in Aquatic Ecology, focusing on environmental impacts and conservation.  I have an 8 year old son who already loves the outdoors.  Even at such a young age he loves to help recycle, help in tree plantings, and participate in Earth Day activities.  I hope that this site will provide some useful tips and ideas for starting to think environmentally.
What is Conservation?

Conservation is the management, protection, and wise use of natural resources.  Natural resources include such things as sunlight, water, soil, minerals, animals, and plants.
There are several types of conservation including forest conservation, wildlife conservation, conservation of grazing land, soil conservation, water conservation, mineral conservation, and energy conservation.
The Most Important Conservation Tip is to get involved!  Get to know the regional ecology in your area.  Visit national parks, go camping, and get educated.  You are more likely to save something that you understand and love.
