The Herbertsville First Aid Squad was established by 7 dedicated public servants over 35 years ago to serve the northern portion of Brick. Prior to this there was only 2 volunteer squads in service; Brick Township F.A.S. on Chambersbridge Road and Community F.A.S. on Mantaloking Road. In 1965 the squad built their first building at the Herbertsville Road location and then the Annex Building was built on Lanes Mill Road in 1987 for housing additional ambulances.
Since organizing the squad, it has served the community 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year. The membership rolls in the past have exceeded 20 actively riding members, but sadly has decreased to less than 10. The Squad is in desperate need for new riding members and support personnel who are willing to dedicate their time to the community.
In order to staff the
ambulance, the new member must have a minimum of CPR and Basic First Aid. From there the new member can get their EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) certificate training. The squad will assist those interested with obtaining the appropriate training.
If riding around in an ambulance is not your cup of tea, but you would still like to help. We have , who help out with many non-emergency squad functions.
There are several classes of membership
CADET MEMBER: ages 16-18 SPECIAL RIDING MEMBER: age 18- older ACTIVE RIDING MEMBER: age 18- older DRIVER ONLY: age 21- older
If you are seriously considering serving the community and want to make a difference.
