Buckhorn Elementary is a well established rural community school situated seventeen kilometers south of the city of Prince George, British Columbia, Canada.
Our Mission at Buckhorn School is to foster, in all students, a lifelong desire to learn. It is our endeavour to prepare students to be responsible and productive citizens in our changing world.
History: In 1931, Buckhorn Elementary consisted of two classrooms. In the 1960s a new building was built with additions in 1972 and 1976. There are currently 145 students divided into five divisions. Our school offers education to students from Kindergarten to Grade Seven.
The Staff for 1998-99 include: Mr. L. Erwin (Principal), Mr. H.Johns(Grade 6/7), Mrs. D.Beckett(Grade 5/6), Mrs.S. Vandal(Grade 4/5), Mrs. M. Fotos(Grade 2/3), Mrs. S. Mann(Grade 1/2), Mrs. B. Mulligan and Mrs. L. Pighin(Kindergarten/1). Our school librarian is Ms. H. ******. Our Learning Assistant teacher is Mrs. W. Robinson. We have several teacher assistants: Mrs. C. Anchikoski, Mrs. R. Kaplan, Mrs.C. Buemann, Mrs. R. Sanderson. Our school secretary is Mrs. J. Hurry and our custodian is Mr. R. *****.
